It is officially my first time back in the audience of a professional theatre company. Tonight’s offering is West Side Story, featuring a very diverse cast of actors. I’m so ready to hear some of my favorite Bernstein music!

As promised, I am back! Episode 64 is now LIVE!

Hey friends… I realize I’ve been pretty much silent over here since getting back from Stitches West… but I assure you, I’m still here (and will be recording later this week)

I’ve been mostly keeping a low profile this week while decompressing from the joy that was Stitches West. I can’t even begin to express the exuberance in my heart from spending time with old and new friends for the first time in over two years. I forgot how inspiring it is to see what other knitters are working on in the wild! I had seen the Kyanna Vest here and there on social media, but it wasn’t until I saw it in person this past weekend that I knew I needed to knit one for myself.

Stitches West Day 2: Another amazingly full day of visiting with friends old and new. Some really thoughtful and wonderful conversations, and I am living for all of the beautiful colors and wonderful wool fumes I’ve been experiencing. Instead of showing you what I bought today… mainly because that’s not my thing, and no judgement if it’s your thing (we all get to choose what is right for us) I thought I would feature a photo of something special my friend @purpleyarnqueen and I both thought to bring this year. One of our traditions has been to visit with @charansachar and get a new mug (or some other delightful creation he has made) at the convention each year. Knowing he wouldn’t be here this year, we wanted to make sure we brought him with us in spirit. Keeping our tradition alive, just in a different way.

Having grown up in Colorado, I’ve visited the state Capitol in Denver on several occasions. I’ve lived in California for nearly 15 years now, and this is quite honestly the first time I’ve seen the state Capitol in Sacramento. So far, it’s been positively lovely here! Starting my day with a nice cup of coffee and then it’s another fun day of visiting with old and new friends on the market floor at Stitches West.

Winding down after a fantastic and busy first day of Stitches West 2022 by getting a bit of spinning done. Goodness I have missed my people! Today’s important lesson is that different doesn’t have to mean bad… different means there are boundless opportunities to try new things, make new friends, and make new memories. It’s only day one, but my heart is immensely full.
